The sweet, small commute from the bed to your home office is a great work perk. But does your home office have the key must-haves to help you aim for success in your job?

It’s time you make the most of your home office and optimize it to its highest potential so you can be more productive. I know you’re probably dreading the thought, but trust me, you’ll feel much better about yourself being productive in your day.

Based on tools that have worked for me, here are five things to help boost your productivity in your home office.

Get the privacy you need during the day with the help of a do not disturb sign.

Hang a “Do Not Disturb Sign”

Whether you need to hop onto a Zoom call or require some peace and quiet to concentrate on an upcoming project, it can be difficult with multiple distractions around you during the day. You can simply make your own sign or purchase a fancy wooden one from a local maker on Etsy. Whichever way you decide to assert some privacy for work, a do not disturb sign is a great way to get the job done quickly.

Daily planning is an excellent way of keeping track of tasks.

Use a Daily Planner

I’m a big believer in using a planner in your day-to-day life, so much so that I have two — one for work and one for my personal plans. And while personal plans may be on hold, for the most part, it's a great outlet to track habits, and goals and plan out new ideas for personal growth. For work, it’s very self-explanatory as it's a great task management tool to help you succeed and get the job done. I rely on a tangible item as I find it helps to physically write out my tasks and cross them off.

Dry-erase board and markers.

Keeping on being visual and hands-on, if you’re like me, you’ll definitely want to keep a dry-erase board with compatible markers nearby. When I have a new idea or thought, it's easy to pick up a marker and jot it down quickly.

There are so many reasons why getting a standing desk converter is beneficial. Not only is it ergonomically friendly, but it allows you to get some hardcore stretches into your day. It certainly offers up variety to the average sit-at-your-desk all-day routine.

Desk Organizer/ Caddy

How many times have you muttered, “where the F is my pen?!” If you had a desk organizer/ caddy, never again — or at least I would hope not. It goes without saying that if your desk is organized and clean, thoughts and focus on work will also start to flow much more clearer. Remember, a clean space equals a clear and uncluttered mind.
