These 7 tips will help you throw the best intimate celebration!

From christenings to intimate weddings, celebrations are vital to keeping friends and family connected, keeping the good times rolling and the memories flowing. In the advent of the post-pandemic world, many people have shifted their idea of the “perfect event” from big, lavish spectacles to beautifully crafted and curated soirees.

If you’re planning an event, you can make your day a great one even right in your own backyard! As a bonus, think about all of the money you’re saving from not renting a space at a popular event venue?! As of late, more engaged couples are opting for more of an intimate setting for their big days. If weddings can be scaled down yet kept classy to keep a standard of caliber, the same can be done for almost any other event!

Want to know how it can be done? Read on.

You’re Going to Need a Tent

Like any great backyard party, a tent is vital for keeping the fun in, and the elements of weather out. Since we can’t predict Mother Nature and rain can always be a possibility (especially when planning way in advance), it’s always great to be prepared with a tented area for seating which ultimately ties the entire design of your event together. You can find many local companies within your area that have tent rentals for a great price. Always be sure to find one that is big enough for your space and can be assembled and disassembled with ease.

Seating & Tables

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you don’t have a dozen tables or a bunch of chairs floating around your home. So you’ll need to also look into renting those out, too. There are plenty of rental companies in every city or town, and it’s just a matter of finding styles that fit the bill and finding the best, competitive price.

DIY Centrepeices

This is easily where you can save the most money on your event! Look at Pinterest for inspiration and spark up ideas that’ll work well with your overall theme. You can easily make centrepieces that your guests will love and are a fraction of the cost!

Small Business Caterer

Give a small business in your area the opportunity to shine! Instead of ordering from a large, corporate-owned catering business, contact local caterers who most likely pay attention to small details and will outperform all others and provide stunning food and beverages.

DIY Bar

Know what your guests like to drink? Stock up on bottles of fan favourites and create a DIY bar with fancy disposable cups.

Decor & Flowers

Go wild at the craft and party stores with the decor! Now’s the time to reimagine your event’s theme by gathering inspiration from new, creative ideas online. Pivot forward on a trendy yet cost-effective theme that you’ll love. Alternatively, plenty of florists and other decor vendors are still working throughout the pandemic and would be more than happy to help with your event’s design.

Hire a Day-Of Coordinator

As always, planning events can be stressful at times, and the last thing you’ll want is to be overwhelmed, especially if the party’s in your honour. It is in your best interest to hire an event planner or day-of coordinator to ensure all aspects of your event are executed flawlessly.
